How about a fight to the death in order to earn food for their Community, one of 12, on the outskirts of a rich and prosperous city living off the hard work of all the communities. And to top it all off, it is televised nationwide for people to bet on who wins and cheer on their community, all the while rich people are allowed to donate huge sums of money to send champions special gifts at their time of need.
How about a love story between two lovers that can never happen because of extenuating circumstances that lead to a love triangle .. of sorts...
How about an action packed novel about a fight to the death between 24 people who were picked in a lottery. The environment is an ever changing menace.
How about a series about a rebel uprising led by children to overthrow a controlling unfair government.
All of those are in the HUNGER GAMES series by Suzanne Collins. It is an amazing series of three novels that includes all of the above, plus a whole lot more surprises and twists and turns than you could ever imagine. This series will keep you attached to the books until you are finished. I, for one, couldn't put any of the books down, and neither could anyone I told to read them.
The series is soon to be made into a movie with a PERFECTLY chosen cast to the people I imagined for the parts while I was reading. Keep and eye out for it's release in March :D The movie and Books will not steer your wrong.
